"Could you repeat that, you cut out for a moment..."

How many times have you been in an online meeting recently and struggled to follow what’s going on due to poor chairing skills?

Well if you don’t want that to be you, you might find our Webinar series on effective online meetings right up your street.

We’ll cover three key stages of: preparation, during the meeting, and after the meeting and look at them from the perspective of the Chair and the Secretary.

Make sure you are well prepared by:

· Being clear on the purpose of the meeting

· Testing the technology

· Having a well structured and pared down agenda

· Agreeing roles

During the meeting, use a facilitation strategy that fits the size of the group and the type of meeting - the larger and more business-like it is the more formal and structured the discussion will need to be. In the Chairing Webinar, we’ll explore a suggested framework to help you reach clear conclusions. Make sure the Chair and the Secretary have an agreed way of working together and consider a third role of trouble shooter.

After the meeting, make time to seek feedback from attendees – chairing a meeting is a learning process. Follow-up on agreed actions and decisions and make sure the Minutes are sent out promptly.

Governance Coach UK are running free breakfast Webinars: one on chairing meetings in an online world and one on taking minutes in an online world. Both will start at 08:30 and last for 45 minutes. The next sessions are scheduled for:
