Ever worked for a boss who lacked self-awareness?

Annoying isn't it?

Peter Drucker, celebrated by BusinessWeek as 'the man who invented management', stressed that self-awareness is the backbone of strong management. If you are not aware of how you come across and how your decisions and behaviours impact other people, you are less likely to be effective in the work place. Worse still, you can rub people up the wrong way and undo all your hard work.

Honing your own view of yourself is part of the picture, but what does your boss think of you? What does your team think of you? What do your peers think of you?

I'm not talking about what you think they think of you, I'm talking about what they really think about you. And what if their thoughts were gathered according to a tried and tested model of what makes a good leader and benchmarked against others like you? Sounds useful?

Well here it is. At Governance Coach UK we use a variety of tools to assess personality, strengths, and emotional intelligence, and we offer 360 degree feedback tools. The purpose is to help people unlock more of their potential and achieve greater satisfaction in life.

We are now offering access to the Hogan 360, developed in partnership with Peter Berry Consultancy. It looks at leadership in four key areas:

The tool can be used as a stand-alone exercise to increase your self-awareness and understand on a deeper level how you are experienced at work by others or as part of a leadership development programme.

Data is benchmarked against over 9000 respondents from 17 countries. In addition to accessing the questionnaire for you and people who know you (about 10-15 is recommended), you'll receive a written report showing your strengths and opportunities for development in the four areas above, how you compare to others in your field, 1:1 feedback from a qualified practitioner, and a coaching conversation to help you to not only reflect on the report but think through what you are going to do with it and how you can improve as a leader.

The Hogan 360 can be used to increase self-awareness, to develop leaders, to identify future leaders as part of succession planning and talent management, and integrated into an annual appraisal.

The Hogan 360 can be done as a one-off exercise or as part of a coaching package. It can also be used alongside the Hogan Leadership Development profile.

As a one-off, the cost is £400 + vat. Discounts are available when utilised as part of a coaching programme and/or with the Hogan Leadership Development profile.
